“Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” - Colossians 3:12 When I think of country (and popular) music legend Glen Campbell I think of 2 songs, “Rhinestone Cowboy” and “Try a Little Kindness”. Ironically, one’s about the pain of being superficial and the other’s about the joy of being genuine. “Try a Little Kindness” was a standard song in the youth groups I grew up in and the words are drilled into my brain like the balance needed to ride a bike. I don’t appreciate all the lyrics cemented in this brain of mine – but I sure appreciate these. Because when we “… try a little kindness, we overlook the blindness of the narrow-minded people on the narrow- minded street.” Join us Sunday at 10:30 am for Mother’s Day!!! Who better to represent kindness than our mothers? Our message will focus on the profound acts of simple kindness.
