On this episode, which is the last part of two (that is why the number is 195.) I started reading parts of my guest’s Thesis. The recording of this first part, we jumped immediately talking about her PhD titled: “Such Unfeminine Instruments,” Women Brass Musicians in America Before 1940”. On this last part, we continued our conversation on how women face business world, the difference or gap created by men when a woman wins a position in a highly regarded orchestra, more about her thesis, and, specially, four key words that are her bread and butter: EDUCATE, DEVELOP, SUPPORT and PROMOTE. Joana Ross Hersey is currently University of North Carolina at Pembroke Dean Associate on the Department of Music. If you want to know more about her Music Department, I bet that she will be happy to help you to determine if UNC is the perfect fit for you, I bet it will. We need more Deans like Joanna Ross Hersey.
