My Garage Academy with Doc Higginmeister ‘A podcast for the overactive mind.’ SHOW NOTES Episode # FOUR Title: My Garage Academy has more crunch than your crickets! Robots: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot I learn a little about the different kinds of robots and how they effect have affected our lives. I also throw out a prediction about the future of my job in light of self driving car technology. 2) My string theory: I introduce the idea of string learning theory, which is my version of following a string of your own curiosity in whatever direction it leads. I postulate that this is a more effective type of learning because if contains memory connections between facts and contains only interesting facts. Below is my string of connection links. Alex Shrugged http://alexshrugged.blogspot.com https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_Shrugged https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayn_Rand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarianism 3) Eating Bugs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entomophagy http://www.precisionnutrition.com/eating-bugs I learn that the idea of eating bugs may sound gross, but bug eating is common to almost every other people group on earth and through out time. I learn that grinding crickets into flour can make the bug grub more palatable. The nutritional bang for your buck is the big pay off for eating insects. 4)Welcome to the Wiz Dome:I have often regretted my speech, never my silence. I notice that occasionally smart people say stuff that isn’t morally correct so I should test everything against my sense of right and wrong. 5)Entropy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropy I learn that my house is falling a part because that is what houses do in this universe. I should not be surprised. It’s Entropy, and I don’t like it. Can’t we live in a world that doesn’t fall a part, a world where everything is perpetually new? 6) Aquaponics: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquaponics I learn a little about the growing system that teams up fish with plants to grow both in a manner that reminds me of a full ecosystem cycling nutrition and resources from living things. It’s the circle of life, and very interesting. “Get Smarter. Act Wisely. Stay humble. Enjoy life richly!” Survival and Self Reliance: Art: Ethics: Space: Around the House: Building or Dreaming about it: Super Human: Wikipedia: Animals: Money Project: Systems Analysis: N/A Food: Writing Project: N/A Homeschool Nation: N/A A Daily Deception: N/A Stream of Conscience: N/A Worldview: N/A
