00:00:28- Harriet : Hello friends, hello listeners. Today we have Frank Jay Porcaro. He’s an international speaker and coach who is facilitating transformation retreats and works with his clients globally. There are so many interesting things we’re going to learn about Frank Jay today.

00:00:40- Harriet: One of the things I want you to take away is that he is just a human being, a human doing, and he is travelling spreading his message. He is an inspiration to many of us millennials. If you’re a millennial woman and you’re listening to this right now you’re going to want to grab your pen, you’re going to grab your notebook coz today is going to be juicy.

Welcome to the show Frank Jay.

00:01:00- Frank: Thanks so much Harriet, it is an honor. And I love how you said it, a human doing and a human being. Because this isn’t like a mastery of push and pull.

00:01:11- Harriet: Absolutely it is and I completely believe that every single person is just being and doing the best that they can with what they have available.

00:01:18- Harriet: I love it and I would love to begin. It would be an honor for you to give us a little bit of background on what’s really truly exciting you to the fingertips all the way down to your toes about what you are doing in your business and in your life right now.

00:01:37- Frank: That’s amazing. Well I just died and I transformed. And I’m super grateful for that. So what I mean by that, I have just died to the old story of myself. I just died to the past habits and I just died to the part of my subconscious mind that was attached to goals. And I’ve transformed.

And it’s interesting because the crow has been following me for the last 6 days. I’ve never seen a crow around here until 6 days ago. Apparently the symbolism of the crow is death and transformation.

00:02:20- Frank: And that’s what’s really exciting. And on the other hand on the business aspect, I’m really excited. I just launched a new site that has my first ever downloadable mixed tape for free for people that want to start a relationship with me. And that’s really awesome and I am flying to San Diego on Friday preparing for my Costa Rica retreat and producing some amazing valuable content for my audience. So there’s a lot of good things.

00:02:56- Frank: And I think what I’m most excited about is that I feel most at peace I’ve ever been and the most connected with myself and spirit.

00:03:05- Harriet: Wow! And before we get into the interview I would love to ask you a question that’s in front of my mind because I’ve been following you and noticing a lot of things that you are doing on social media and it’s a really important question. I’m sure you’re going to have a lot to say on it.

00:03:24 Harriet: What message is most important for us millennials right now?

00:03:28- Frank: When you asked that question I felt that deeply actually. I think the message is that, Hey brothers and sisters, we are living in an incredible time. Our parents were completely conditioned by an old system and they have brought us up like that too. So there’s a lot of fear of getting a job and settling down and working for the system. But you know inside your heart there’s an inkling, and that inkling speaks to you loudly whether you’re listening or not. But it speaks to you and you know that it speaks to you and saying, I don’t want to settle, I don’t want to grow up like my parents.

00:04:12 Frank: There is a new world. There’s a unity in us as people and this internet is our tool to transfer information and to become free. So the message, brothers and sisters that you can become free. You can go into cyberspace and pull out of the old system. You can become wealthy very easily. You can do what you love and form tribes from all over the world remotely. And most of all, you can pull away from the restriction.

But I would also suggest that while you’re on this path, remember that there’s two worlds. There’s a world that’s a mind, and there’s a world that’s a spirit. And the world of the mind and the spirit, these have the same components. There’s component of sexuality, there’s component of money, there’s component of relationships. Every single component of both worlds are the same, but there’s a different feeling, a different approach, a different experience, whether you’re tapped into spirit or whether you’re tapped into mind.

00:05:17- Frank: So for example, money. We’ve been very manipulated with our mind and a lot of people are in scarce states about money. However, you can use money and experience money in a very spiritual way. And so what I say is to tap into the deeper part of yourself and to your own truth and to walk boldly in that truth. Knowing that yes, you’re going to pull away from restriction to freedom. But don’t go from one restriction to another restriction, from one religion into spirituality, so one dogma into another dogma. Now find your freedom by developing your own philosophy and tapping into spirit which will guide you to actual peace and fulfillment. Not just a fake fantasy, not just a fantasy world. Let’s get out of that world of manipulation. We’ve been manipulated ever since we were born so let’s move to a higher realm and lift everybody up around us. That’s what the message would be in a nutshell.

00:06:13- Harriet: I love it! Thanks for summing up the differences between the mind and the spirit. I feel a lot of people do get trapped between… they get trapped in their old stories.

00:06:24- Harriet: Speaking of stories, I would love for you to share, I know your story is one of great detail, of great pain to power to empowerment, but I would love for you to share the basics of how you came to be from a place of unsuccess, of the place of not having what you wanted to a place now where you’re living free and doing what you love.

00:06:47- Frank: Right. I grew up, two older sisters and my mom. My father left when I was a baby. He got into drugs and I stopped seeing him when I was 10. I used to see him every other weekend until I was 10… from what I know he abused my mother mentally. And my mom had to struggle and work 2-3 jobs to take care of 3 kids and so me and my sisters were always left home. She really cared about us, however, you understand, everyone can understand when someone is so stressed. There is no manual to handle that stress or anyone to really rely on. You can break. Meaning that we can have emotional outburst and cause a lot of trauma on the people we love. In short I experienced very domestic violence at home so I grew up very confused and anxious. I definitely had friends growing up but I was getting into drugs, fighting, getting kicked out of school, almost going to jail. And what kept me on the path, sort of straight was sports.

00:08:01- Frank: I never really felt like I belonged. I always felt lonely, I always felt confused. I always knew that there was something more. I never felt part of my family to be honest. But at 18 years old I got a job at a nursing home. All my supposedly friends moved away to college and I was just feeling so distant from my family, from my friends. I was alone. Internally I was alone.

00:08:24- Frank: And I was experiencing really intense anxiety attacks and depression. I started to become aware of patterns. One person going into a relationship, breaking up with that person, finding the same person just looking a bit like human. And my mother struggling with money, the same type of patterns. Never having money on time for the bills, and just people complaining. And then I started working in a nursing home where people on their deathbed were still complaining. Who was right, who was wrong.

Like blaming the nurses, blaming their family. Does anybody get the damn message, at even on your deathbed at 90 years old, you still don’t get the message?

00:09:14- Frank: On the other hand too there’s countless amount of people that I’ve witnessed on their deathbed that I’ve had conversations with that they regretted their life. That they wished they lived their life differently. And with all the combination of that intensity of that experience around 18 years old created a shift inside of my feelings and I became aware that there was an inkling inside of me. First of all is suffering, what do I do? Do I change my life or do I sit here and die, like I felt like I was dying so I had no other choice so I really changed my life to surrender.

I continued to change my life to surrender. I started this call. I died and transformed this past month. And I surrendered. I didn’t really do anything. I just surrendered. And again I changed my life. I’m listening to the signs, to life by surrendering. And so I surrendered to that inkling. I didn’t know what motivational speaking was. I didn’t know what philosophy was. I had no view of the world. I was living in my own little world and I started to seek and I found information. And I studied it like my life depended on it and I got results.

00:10:28- Frank: And along that path of me feeling better on a daily basis and going through my own transformation, I started to become aware that I had tendencies of inspiring and motivating people. And it’s so funny because I used to get kicked out of school, not kicked out, I mean taken out of class to go to a special speech class because I had speech impairments and I was embarrassed. My friend in high school called me “Fwank”, because I could not pronounce my “R’s”. and I was so embarrassed about that even when I was older. I had a very poor vocabulary so it’s interesting because I went to train that myself. I started to look up information online. I started to read, I started to find out how to learn. Not just learning but how to learn. And I trained myself to speak much more articulate than I have ever had. And now I get paid to speak. I get paid to write. I turned my weakness into my greatest gift. And I felt just really compelled, I felt like this was my destiny.

I made a soul commitment and there was a spirituality in the beginning. In the beginning I knew that there was a larger purpose. I felt like that inkling was not just God in the religious books. Essentially it started in religion but I felt more like there was a force inside of me that was going to take me to a beautiful life.

I had a great intention to serve others in the world. And it was much larger than my weakness and my psychology at that time but I trusted that. And I trusted it so boldly and I can’t describe just many transformations and now I’m super blessed and super grateful.

00:12:24- Frank: And I pulled out of restriction essentially. It was almost like I was swimming in a lake and swamp thing came and grabbed me, pulling me under the water. It was that intense in the beginning where I had to swim my ass up to the top and get out of that swamp. That’s how much I pushed.

00:12:50- Harriet: It’s such a great metaphor, the swamp. And frankly I feel there’s a lot of human beings who are in the swamp. Like it suddenly appeared they’ve been in the swamp so long they don’t know what not being in it is like.

00:13:05- Harriet: What kind of tools do you have in your tool belt that you would suggest. Just some basic starting points for persons who like you were is currently feeling a little bit swamped or a lot swamped.

00:13:19- Frank: This is important. You got to spend time alone. You got to cut out your influence. Because if you know it or not the people around you are highly influencing you and emotionally draining you. Consciously and unconsciously. I would say cut out your proximity with most people. Spend more time alone in nature ideally because nature is so nurturing. And start writing questions out on a notebook and answering those questions. Get to know yourself. Take care of yourself. Just simple things. Make it your priority honoring yourself like taking baths, running, exercising, eating well, drinking a lot of water, being alone. I would say the simple tool is be alone. Be alone and take care of yourself because what’s going to happen in that contemplation, in that pondering is that you’re going to start, one, you get comfortable in your own presence which is essential on this path. In a way you have stand alone, in the beginning. In most cases it’s very lonely. So you have to really develop a confidence like you trust in yourself. And so being alone and pondering ideally with a notebook and taking care of yourself because then you feel better and you have more clarity. That’s just simple.

00:14:40- Harriet: Nice, I love it how you kept it simple. A lot of people want to give you a million hundred tools. But I love that time alone really gives you the space to answer those internal questions. By writing them down you actually get to process and acknowledge them too.

00:14:57- Frank: Yeah, and cut out the influence of people. Like stop asking your mom for advice, stop asking your dad for advice. Stop asking your best friend. They have no freaking idea. They can only tell you what they know and all they know is restriction, most likely. So start to rely on yourself and seek out mentors. People that really did remarkable things that have a whole other mindset and they’re collective. You’ll find them in books, now in the internet, you can find the information.

00:15:32- Harriet: That’s true. Who are the top 3 people, who are your influencers, the non - restricting people who lived remarkable lives that you look up to right now?

00:15:42- Frank: One of my teachers is a man that goes by the name of Stuart Wild. So in his earlier days his teaching really resonates with me, sort of shifted towards the late 90s. he has passed away but in his earlier days I’m really learning from him now.

00:15:59- Harriet: That’s awesome. And what is one of the greatest take aways that you found from studying with him?

00:16:03- Frank: Don’t take life personally. You’re not here to please people. And challenge beliefs, challenge belief systems. Like even challenge your own beliefs. Like why the heck do I believe this crap? Why am I struggling? Why am I banging my head against the wall? Stop, and pull back and maybe climb over the wall. Or not even go that way. Let’s go another way. You know it’s that simple. Simplicity.

00:16:33- Harriet: I love it and I appreciate your honesty.

00:17:08- Frank: Life is changing. We’re living in a fast moving world. It’s not the same. Most of the cases of our parents, they are living in very slow moving reality. As you climb you start to oscillate faster, your energy is moving faster, you get new experience, you’re learning quicker. Things are happening, relationships are coming in, coming out. Just got to get used to change. Keep going.

00:17:44- Harriet : If you went back, 10, 15, 20 years, what’s one of those moments that have occurred in your life you wished you could drop down in and tell your old self something or reverse something, if anything, what would it be for you?

00:17:59- Frank : I don’t think I would reverse anything. I know that’s like a cliché thing. I want it at all. I’ve taken on everything and it’s all coming full circle. It’s amazing. I love how restricted I was in the past. I love how much pain I went through, how much confusion I went through. Like recently I’m still confused at certain subjects. I love it! I love it because I am developing depth and understanding at a deep level. I’m going to master it. Period. So I love it.

00:18:40- Frank: I would like to go back during my very big transformation around 18, 20 years old and really understand what was going on, on a deep spiritual level. It was so intense. I would like to understand that.

00:19:05- Frank: I feel like I died and reborn. I died so many times on this path and that’s something I want to offer your listeners as well is that Hey, don’t be afraid to die. Your ego is going to be afraid to die to the relationship. It’s going to be afraid to die to a past identity. Don’t be afraid to die. That’s the mind of the world, I mean that’s the world of the mind. That’s not all there is, there’s a deeper intelligence. It’s called the world of the spirit and it access to your heart and it speaks to you. It sees things the mind can’t see and knows things the mind can’t explain. You ask from the mind, you get from the mind. It’s never satisfied, it’s like a bitching baby that’s complaining. Sometimes you got to say, Shut up.. I’m going this way I don’t care what you say. Shut up! You got to tame that mind because that’s essentially what’s causing us distress. No one else.

00:20:27- Frank: I love how challenged we are by our mind. If some of your listeners are still thinking that it’s their mom or their dad, their boss or the society, or blah blah blah, you’re already lost. You’re done. If you’re buying into that crap you have no chance. You got to take personal responsibility and realize that all of life is coming at you and you are getting exactly what you are. Not what you want, what you are. Not who you are as an individual. Your energy. What you are. Are you balanced or imbalanced? Because the very fact of blaming people is creating imbalance inside your energy patterns.

00:21:12 Frank: The truth is, I’m glad that the mind is so freaking sporadic because your path, your quest is a matter of centering your mind and emotions and tapping into that spirit through the heart. And as you do that you develop trust. It’s going the complete opposite way. And how much do you really trust? Your listeners, if you believe in God or universe, the law of attraction and all the shit that you hear from all these people? Then put it to test! Stop talking about it. Stop praying and hoping and wishing and waiting for a miracle to happen. Put it to test! Get on the plane and go! Buy your one-way plane ticket and see how much you can believe in yourself and your quest. And how much you believe in God and the universe to provide for you. Because most people won’t do it. They won’t put it to test, because they’re scared. And I’ve been scared too. I’ve been scared again and again and again. But I have been in options where I burned the bridges and I had no other choice but to rely on the universe or God. And it pulled through. And those experiences have developed a rich internal experience. You take everything away from me and here I am. I wake up and do the same thing. I’ll figure it out. I’m not affected. I move on, because I have created that relentlessness inside of myself by putting myself in these wild experiences. I’m not suggesting there’s only one way to do that. Trust in yourself. Believe in yourself, love and believe in others and if you really believe in God and the universe and the law of attraction then put it to test. Stop talking about it and take responsibility and go forth.

00:23:30- Harriet: What is one healthy living golden nugget that everyone should live by? What do you believe every person should live by?

00:23:44- Frank: Human touch. I think touch is incredibly healing and whether you don’t have a human to touch then hug yourself.

00:24:01- Frank: I think I’ve heard this statistic. Where there’s two babies and they got the same amount of attention. One got touched and the other one was deprived of touch. And the one that did get touched grew large, and grew stronger, healthier and had more weight on it, more vital. And the other one was weak and frail. So human touch is incredibly healing. Either you have someone to touch or hug yourself or go get a massage.

00:25:11- Frank: Also another recommendation is concentration. Not just touch but concentration on yourself, on your life, on your highest good. Concentrating on your being present with others. Concentration is what makes things real. Our life is a collection on what we’re concentrating on.

00:25:40- Harriet: I totally believe that 100%.

00:25:56- Harriet: Let’s head onto the quick fire questions. What are you currently reading that’s inspiring you?

00:26:00- Frank: A book. I just finished a book. I have a bunch of books I am reading at this time. I just finished a book called Sex from Oschio (?). It’s about sexuality in the eyes of spirit rather than the mind and I feel like that’s very significant because that is a huge part of being human and there’s a lot of shame, a lot of guilt and a lot of restriction which creates indulgence. It’s a pathway to the divine and I’m learning about bringing more consciousness into my life and teaching others too.

00:26:55- Harriet: What do you love to eat?

00:27:03- Frank: I like variety. I’ve been eating sauerkraut, hummus, rice cakes, eggs, coconut oil. There’s a mixture I’ve been eating.

00:27:20- Harriet: What’s your most mind-boggling movie today?

00:27:27- Frank: An older movie and it actually has no dialogue, and it’s called Baraka and it’s basically a bunch of scenes of all around the world, different cultures.

00:27:53- Harriet: amazing! And lastly what is your most favorite thing to feel?

00:28:18- Frank: (laughs) That’s so funny. But I want to live my life as authentic as possible. I really like feeling a woman’s body. It’s just being authentic. (laughs)

00:28:42- Frank: But as for emotion, I love feeling gratitude in my heart. When you feel so grateful and your heart just feels open. That’s a good feeling.

00:28:58- Harriet: thank you so much for the interview today. There’s some people that want to find out more about you and I believe you have a great new site and an amazing offering.

00:29:10- Frank: Yes, so I have a downloadable mixed tape if you go to my site. It’s frankjay.tv. You can just basically start a relationship with me by leaving your email and I’ll give you 16 downloadable tracks that will fuel your spirit. Creative, inspiring, informational and would really expand your mind and get you contemplating on a few amazing ideas

00:29:45- Frank: I have a small space in schedule for private coaching so if you go to my site you’ll check out my resources there and if you are inspired to learn more about that you can fill out an application. And it’s very clear, it’s very simple on my site where you can fill out that application.

00:30:08- Harriet: What’s your parting message that you’d love to leave our listeners and friends for today?

00:30:14- Frank: Follow that inkling inside your heart and follow it so courageously and so boldly. Put the universe or God to the test and go for it. Trust me, you have a guiding force inside of you. All of us do. Believe in yourself and love and believe others.

00:30:37- Harriet: Awesome, I appreciate it. Have an amazing day out there. Live. Love. Have an amazing phenomenal day. We love you so much and we can’t wait to have you on more podcasts like this. Bye for now.
