Bedford and LaMisha were joined by Zoe Samudzi, author and doctoral student, in order to discuss the impact of the murder of Nia Wilson at the MacArthur BART Station in Oakland. During “What’s Going On?” they discuss the emotional, sociological, and psychological impact of losing a young Black woman who was full of potential. During #RealTalk they focused in on the media’s treatment of Nia, as well as other Black & Brown victims of lethal whiteness, and why Nia’s respectability is not the reason for us to demand justice. Special thanks to Ra Malika Imhotep for sharing her experience and insights.
