In this week’s episode the Nerdologists shed some light on the crossover phenomenon. This kinda thing is here to stay, and so they decided to talk about some of the ones over the last 21 years that they’ve actually liked.

The crossover event is an annual tradition, not only in the big two, but in a lot of the smaller publishers too. In recent years though, it seems to have outgrown its welcome with a lot of comic fans, hardcore, and relative newcomers alike.

And although the term universe wide crossover seems to carry negative connotations nowadays, there are still some that are pretty good. Jamie has some comics from the 80s, reprinted in the 90s and featured some prominent heroes form both Marvel and DC coming to blows. He takes us through some of those and then Ryan regales with stories of DC vs Marvel, and the limited Amalgam universe.

Jamie is also a big fan of the inter-publisher crossover limited series that are out there. Batman/TMNT JLA/Power Rangers, He-Man/Thundercats to name a few.

The guys then shift their focus to the movie side and discuss what are the possibilities (if any) of seeing some of these hit the big screen.

We do apologize as early on there are some technical difficulties with the recording. Thanks for understanding true fans!

Jamie is Nerdology5280 and can be found on Twitter and the other social media sites that matter under that handle. Make sure you check out his YouTube page Nerdology5280. He does all kinds of stuff on there like hosting all the video podcasts we do, movie reviews, and unboxings.

Ryan can be found on Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and Myspace under @RyanTalksNerdy. He tweets mostly about X-Men, if you can’t tell he’s obsessed. If you are looking for his werewolf story, it will soon (how soon? who knows?) be up on Tumblr.

We would like to thank Razer for all the amazing equipment that they make. It has helped Jamie make better videos and amazing podcasts. Go to the Razer Store to check out all the awesomeness.

Don’t be afraid to unleash your inner nerd!!!!!

PEACE!!!
