By now, we all recognize the ubiquitous box or shipping packet with the arrow, but the reality behind the packaging is much darker and much more ubiquitous in our lives than most people could ever imagine. From last mile delivery, warehouse & fulfillment workers, major tech companies, and avergae citizens across the globe - Amazon has an impact on billiuons of us in one way or another.

We're joined by sociologists Jake Alimahomed-Wilson & Ellen Reese to discuss their new book, The Cost of Free Shipping: Amazon in the Global Economy, to examine just how deep Amazon's tentacles go into global society and what that means for working people, consumers, and oblivious internet users alike.
