Nearly 50 per cent of ATMs may be shut down by March 2019 due to unavailability of operations which would hit hard to both the urban and rural population. which now have to deal with a blow to the Gov's digitization policy as well. This was recently warned by the Confederation of ATM industry. This industry describes itself as a non-profit trade association representing ATM manufacturing and outsourcing companies among other firms. The association's spokesperson had also said that 1,13,000 of 2,38,000 ATMs are likely to down their shutters soon.
