September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in Mississippi,so on today's show we welcomed Patti Herrington, a woman who lost her son to suicide but turned her pain into her purpose by creating Firefly Outreach, an organization that shares the message to take a stand for life against suicide. We will also have Sandra Parks, Director of the Division of Children & Youth Services at the Dept. of Mental Health, Molly Portera, Coordinator with the Suicide Prevention Outreach at the Dept. of Mental Health and August Patton, Director of Children & Youth Services at Hinds Behavioral Health Services in Jackson to give us insight into the mental health aspect of suicide.
