I started a meditation class last month and have been doing it every day since. Contrary to what I assumed going in, it’s usually not enjoyable or relaxing! With enough practice, though, it’s supposed to make you more present, accepting and happy during your non-meditating hours. Supplementing with some beautiful ambient music motivates me to make time for it.
This mix is brief tour of hypnotic ambient music, starting melodic, then going soundscape-y before turning deeper. The mix clocks in a just over half an hour, which is exactly the amount of time I’ve been trying to do each morning (often falling short). By the way, if you’re interested in starting a meditation practice I highly recommend the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) class at OHSU’s March Wellness Center. I don’t think there’s a site for it, but reach out to the instructor kimberly@mindfulyogaworks.com if you’d like more information. She’s awesome!
