Change means growth, after dealing with the associated challenges. Or some such thing.

Growing children are nothing but change. They are agents not so much of destruction or entropy, but challenge. They challenge themselves and those around them. And my daughter is no different.

Case in point, everyday she asks what things are. And everyday she learns new words. Her vocabulary is increasing by leaps and bounds, to a degree that neither her mother nor I expected. Which means we have to keep up. But so do the teachers at daycare.

My daughter has a new routine. Many new routines. It's brought on many changes... and now the original MASH theme song is playing through my head. But daycare has brought quite a bit of disruption to my daughter's day and thus my nights. And this has just been a soft launch.

Finland, unlike the US doesn't have you just drop your kid off for their first day and leave. You spend a week or two easing the kid into the new environment. It's meant I've been spending a lot of time around children, and so has my daughter. Our reactions couldn't have been different. She's pretty much been indifferent to their existence while I've had to worry about tripping over the lot of them.

That though is the least of my worries. Making sure my daughter is actually eating and sleeping enough is more pressing. With time she'll adjust but as ever it's my priority to make sure she reaches that point.

It shouldn't be a surprise that this week I'm playing The Witcher 3. As usual you can find this episode on Twitch, Youtube, Stitcher, iHeartRadio and iTunes.
