In the conclusion to Pablo Escobar and the Peasant Billionaires we’ll hear from some of the DEA agents who pursued the king of cocaine and the journalist Elizabeth Mora who interviewed him six times at the height of his infamy. After the killing of the justice minister Pablo’s life as a terrorist and local warlord becomes increasingly violent and unstable. Colombia and America have a problem with Mr. Escobar’s business, and the nation is terrified when they see what he is capable of, but everyone is powerless to stop him. This episode of Our Thing is about the intense courage and resourcefulness of a nation under siege, but it’s also about how the victims of narcoterrorism becomes narcoterrorists themselves. The violence is out of control and it won’t end with Pablo’s death, but we’ll have to end this series somewhere
