Emmett Shelton, Sr. shares a very interesting story about a tip he got from LBJ in the 30s that encouraged his interest in buying land by the lake. He shares colorful stories of his creative financing on a deal to buy land on the Roy Ranch for $4 an acre in the 1930s. Keep in mind, there were no roads in Westlake except Bee Cave Road and the Rocky River Road.
