The Out of the Box Boys are almost done with the third year of Softball Media Days! Tom Canterbury and Gray Robertson are back for another day of talking with SEC head softball coaches (and a bonus head coach) about their teams. Let’s get started!

**SCHEDULE NOTE: Due to some shuffling, our conversation with Trisha Ford from Texas A&M will be released on a special fifth day of 2022 Softball Media Days on December 13th.

First, Tom and Gray preview Day 4 of Softball Media Days and discuss a little bit about the upcoming conversation with Patrick Murphy from Alabama (0:00-5:37).

Then, Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy leads off and discusses adding Lance McMahon to the coaching staff, having a new voice in meetings, how the pitchers have changed with Lance, Montana Fouts and Team USA, transfer additions, the freshmen class, the multitude of options in the middle of the infield, the outfield situation, what stood out from Fall Ball, the safety base, the upcoming NCAA vote on staff changes, and much more (5:44-1:01:36).

Next, Memphis head coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro stops by to talk about what drew her to the Memphis job, the process of hiring assistants, the pitching staff, Mikayla Hoschak, what the offense will look like, the recruiting trail, a Memphis elevator pitch, the changes coming to the AAC, non-conference scheduling, her “Out of the Box Office” movie pick, and much more (1:01:43-1:41:50).

Finally, it’s the Fall Ball Special! Tom and Gray do a thorough study of every Alabama player’s Fall Ball stats with some comments about how the lineup could shake out come February. Then, the guys hit the Mailbag and answer questions about key transfers elsewhere around the country, the easiest and toughest conference schedules in the SEC, possible stars this year at Alabama, way-too-early WCWS contenders, and personal choices for “Out of the Box Office” episodes (1:42:04-2:34:08).

To close the show, Tom and Gray recap the fourth episode and tease special Day 5 of Softball Media Days (2:34:14-2:42:34).
