Ever wonder why some kids take to reading a bit more than others?
Especially at home, when you ask them to read aloud, they may feel like it's a school assignment rather than an engaging activity.
We play an important role in modeling reading for our kids. Children learn through observation and modeling, and we, as caregivers (teachers too!), are the main influencers to motivate them to read more.
Melissa Nikhol has been an educator for 11 years and actively advocates for parents and students. As an educator, Melissa makes sure to find time and be a role model to read to her students and support parents by giving them tips in building the children's foundational skills to learn at home.
