When I first heard the reports coming from the Facebook whistleblower, it confirmed my worst fears. My guest, Dr. Lisa Strohman has been sounding the alarm on the dangers of social media for some time.

Dr. Strohman is the go-to subject matter expert for CNN, Fox News and is a regular on The Doctors. We talk about how social media apps are changing the way we relate to each other, consume information, and even parent.

In this episode we talk about: How hate is promoted over love The impact to our kids’ mental wellbeing Social media is becoming more influential than parents “Finsta accounts” and why you should care Where not to allow your child to have their phone The average age of children accessing pornography

For more on Dr. Lisa’s take on Facebook’s policies, read her blog post here: https://drlisastrohman.com/facebook-whistleblowers-powerful-testimony/

You can find Dr. Strohman’s books, “Unplug” and “Digital Distress” on her website or on amazon. https://drlisastrohman.com/books/

About Dr. Lisa Strohman Dr. Lisa Strohman is a clinical psychologist and attorney who is the founder of Digital Citizen Academy-- one of the first organizations to focus on eliminating issues such as cyber-bullying, child luring, sextortion, and suicide through prevention and diversion programs, events, and resources. She is also a mother of two children.

This month Dr. Strohman and a colleague (Dr. Melissa Westendorf) officially published their book Digital Distress: “the first book of its kind to focus specifically on Gen Z, highlighting how children who have grown up with technology as ubiquitous as air are impacted by the challenges of growing up in a digital world.”
