Do you take things your patients say personally?
This is a huge challenge for us as pelvic PTs. It contributes to feeling inadequate, defensive, frustrated at work and burned out.
In this 'sode we dive into not taking things personally - positive or negative - and how we can implement that when a patient flares, plateaus, or challenges us.
Often our impulse is either:

  • Blaming ourselves and feeling inadequate
  • Blaming the patient and being defensive

This comes from the fantastic book by Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements.
