In episode 4 of People My Dog Would Like, we sit down with Jon Yeo, Curator of TEDx Melbourne and Chapter President of Professional Speakers Australia and leading light at The Slow School of Business. In this episode Jon talks about why he loves TED and what it stands for, his passion to empower people to reach their full potential and encourages them to do the same for others. He talks about the humility of TEDx speakers, the immergence of new tribes seeking an alternative kind of leadership that addresses the social and economic inequity in the world and how important it is for leadership to take note that there is an emerging sense of change in the air, that does not bode well for the political elite. It's Equal Pay Day today and this month it's Liptember, which we also touched on briefly in the conversation, including his admiration for storytelling expertise of Steve Jobs, George Lucas and the sheer brilliance of Jackson Pollock. If you want to contact Jon directly, he would love to hear from you and you can reach him at jonyeo@brightstar.net.au and you can also reach him through his website at The Slow School of Business.
Opening music is Helpless Blues, don't worry, the irony in the title is not lost on me, by the fabulous The Bamboos, a hot Melbourne band.
