Der kirchliche Sportverband DJK im Bistum Passau ist 100 Jahre alt geworden. Unter dem Dach des Diözesanverbandes sind 74 DJK-Ortsvereine mit rund 34 000 Mitgliedern versammelt, davon sind über 12 000 Kinder und Jugendliche. Es werden 40 verschiedene Sportarten angeboten. Bei einem Festgottesdienst im Dom waren auch Vertreter der DJK-Bundes- der DJK-Landesebene vertreten. Bischof Stefan Oster sprach in seiner Predigt, anhand von Beispielen aus seinem persönlichen Leben über christliche Aspekte des Wertes von Sport: Aus Niederlagen lernen, die Schwachen mitnehmen und Hingabe lernen.
