Last week on the show, the newly appointed Director of Racing at Yonkers Raceway Cammie Haughton dropped a bombshell on the harness racing world by stating that the racetrack will do away with its passing lane in January. While the passing lane was once considered innovative, it has since fallen out of favor with a percentage of the harness racing population. Driver Yannick Gingras, DRF's Garnet Barnsdale, and NAHU's Rod Allums Jr. will join the program to debate the pros and cons of the passing lane, and its future in the sport of harness racing. "It will be interesting to get three different perspectives on the subject. One from a catch driver, another from a successful gambler, and yet another from a second generation horseman," said show co-host Michael Bozich. Also on the program, part three of the sit-down discussion between all three of the USHWA Breakthrough Award nominees will air. Part one aired on Ray Cotolo's North American Harness Update, while part two was hosted by Ryan Macedonio's Trotcast. Post Time with Mike and Mike's Michael Carter was also nominated for the prestigious award. Midwest Harness Report's Tim Konkle will also join the show. Tim will talk about his career in harness racing, and a bit more about the magazine, which primarily covers the sport in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Iowa. If you haven't voted for the Post Time with Mike and Mike Awards as of yet, please do so at www.posttimewithmikeandmike.com/post-time-with-mike-and-mike-awards.html. The Awards show will air Thursday (Dec. 28) at 7 p.m. (EST). The show can be heard live at www.posttimewithmikeandmike.com or on-demand on the BetAmerica Radio Network.
