Growing and Giving with Pamela Jackson Rowe
Manage episode 292153465 series 2281199
Mentors show you the way when you’re doing something you’ve never done before, and they help you achieve success better and faster than they did. They save you so much time, money, and frustration. Don’t you agree?
In this episode, I am joined by Pamela Jackson Rowe, and we are discussing how she became a speech-language pathologist and a business owner as well as what mentorship has meant to her, and why she's also so committed to being a mentor herself.
Pamela Rowe, MA, CCC-SLP is the Clinical Director of Pamela Rowe, MA, CCC-SLP, LLC, an Adult and Pediatric Therapy Practice with six Florida locations. Her practice provides Speech, Occupational, Physical, and Respiratory Therapy services in 18 counties within the state of Florida.
Pamela is co-author of Putting Your Dreams To Work: Keys To Setting Up Your Therapy Practice and Start Your Engines. As a continuing partner with various state agencies, Pamela enjoys empowering individuals to communicate and use their voice within their community.
In Today's Episode, We Discuss:
- Finding the population that feels exhilarating to you
- What stops some SLPs from starting a private practice
- How to keep your private practice cost-effective
- Tips for hiring people
- Flexibilities of private practice
- Resources/gifts for new SLPs
- How to stop second-guessing yourself
Pamela and I are both committed to mentoring the next generation of SLPs in private practice because we want the field to grow in ways that previous generations could never imagine!
I want you to take some time to get to know who you are and the passion you have for the field as you begin to start the process of starting your private practice. This will be crucial for you, your patients, and your private practice!
I highly recommend picking up both of Pamela’s books linked in the resources section for additional guidance!
