Well, our first year anniversary has passed, so in a way, this is the season two premiere episode of the Psychotronic Film Society!

And if you thought our first year included too much of our hosts getting along and agreeing on films, have we got an episode for you!

This week, we take a look at the much-maligned, often divisive 2008 film from the Wachowskis, SPEED RACER!

SYNOPSIS: Speed Racer is the tale of a young and brilliant racing driver. When corruption in the racing leagues costs his brother his life, he must team up with the police and the mysterious Racer X to bring an end to the corruption and criminal activities. Inspired by the cartoon series.

As always, we dive into the making of the film, including trying to figure out just why it bombed so badly at the box office. But then we ask the truly important question...

Does SPEED RACER deserve a spot in the Psychotronic Hall of Fame?

Theme song: “Foreign Body” by the Slasher Film Festival Strategy from their album PSYCHIC SHIELD. More info: slasherfilmfestivalstrategy.bandcamp.com
