On this week's podcast we have Jay Jones the safety and training officer for the city of Boulder, Colorado. We will be discussing wellness based safety and how it can be incorporated into your entities or organizations. In both wellness and safety programs a common theme would be using proactive and known measures to ensure or enhance the quality of life for all employees within your organization and entity. Wellness enhanced safety programs is another term for taking a proactive approach to injury prevention. By educating all individuals that come through your place of work whether long term or temporary employees that wellness and safety measures ultimately start at home and before they even come to work for the day. Benefits that Jay and his municipality have seen are fewer worker compensation claims resulting from happier and healthier workers which has increased job morale, better production and quality of work. On top of this has also been job retention therefore communicating to management that the wellness program has and is working so then Jay and his team were able to increase the parameters of their wellness based safety program.
