Chandan Yatra - A Festival of Love

When the heat of the summer wherever we are whether we are living in the temple as brahmacaris or Sannyasis, whether we are living in house, or anywhere, we should always be keeping prominent in our hearts and in our minds how is Krsna? How is Radhagopinath enjoying? Are they hot today? What can I do to make them nice and cool? So Chandan Yatra is the day when we work very hard grinding sandalwood so that we can offer Krsna such a pure and cooling sensation. Of course, we should know that it is not the sandalwood that gives pleasure to Krsna, it is the devotion in which it is prepared, in which it is offered that gives Krsna great satisfaction and we come together on this day to celebrate the wonderful pastime of Krsna being satisfied, covered by the devotion of his devotee and this is our greatest pleasure.
