In 1987 gingen Spoor redacteuren Geert Mak en Nienke Feis naar de proefboerderij van Margaret Thatcher: “Acht jaar lang regeerde de ijskoningin over Engeland. Acht jaar was Engeland hét voorbeeld voor saneerders, bezuinigers en privatiseerders voor heel Europa.” Zij zochten uit hoe dit land er na acht jaar thatcherism bij lag.
