Deahn Berrini is the author of three novels: Milkweed, set in Ipswich during the Vietnam era; How to Earn Your Keep, a tale of how economic stresses wear down a family; and, A Roanoke Story, which recounts the first European settlement in North America, solely from the Native American point of view.

She teaches the long-running Creative Writing Class at the Swampscott Senior Center. She has been a journalist for several local papers.

Pre-Covid, she worked as a coordinator for a Boston-based homelessness charity, and she now works in affordable housing preservation.

Although she travels widely, Deahn has spent most of her life on the North Shore of Boston, where she lives, in Swampscott. She is a graduate of Brown University and Boston College Law School.
