Growing up the youngest sibling in a large family, Jody Allen-Bisio wasn't always 'in the know.' As a result, she struggled to find herself and discover her individuality. After being taught that drinking a glass of water would solve every problem in the world, Jody quickly learned that picking up a glass of alcohol seemed like it would. Little did she know the journey this would take her on - one that led to alcoholism, getting sober, and eventually recovery.
Ashley and Jody first met in a 12-step recovery meeting. In Episode 16, they take some time to dig into Jody's story and discuss the defining moments in her journey including how she found sobriety and eventually became a counselor. Since finding recovery, Jody Allen-Bisio has worked in the field of recovery as a counselor for more than a decade.
Her story is crazy, inspirational, and courageous. Tune in, and hang on, because here we go!
