In this segment of By Any Means Necessary, hosts Sean Blackmon and Jacquie Luqman are joined by Nate Wallace, co-host of Red Spin Sports podcast, for another edition of “The Red Spin Report." They discuss the Time Magazine article written by "The End of Sport" podcast hosts: Nathan Kalman-Lamb, Johanna Mellis, & Derek Silva, featuring anonymous comments by a Power Five CFB player that the" whole goal" of the NCAA football league's restart "is to make everyone feel like things are normal—which they definitely aren't," and the importance of grappling with the numerous and increasingly difficult contradictions within football.
*Note on the thumbnail image: this is from National Signing Day 2011 when Nate was still coaching high school football at inner-city Jacksonville, FL Robert E. Lee H.S. The fact the school is STILL named for Robert E. Lee says something in itself, but the picture features from L to R: QB/DE Darius Darden signing with Tuskegee University, DE Alonzo Jackson signing with Presbyterian College, and Alex Dodds signing with Tuskegee University. The coaches are from L to R: current Lee head coach (at the time assistant) & Florida Gators star receiver from 2000-2004: OJ Small, then head coach and former star Florida Gators bandit back (hybrid linebacker/safety position) from 1988-1992: Myrick Anderson, and finally yours truly clapping it up on the right. I would name the cheerleaders too, but unfortunately don't know their names.
