Welcome to Episode 73 of the “Reel Chat Podcast.” This week we continue our countdown of Empire Magazine’s Top 100 Greatest Movies of all time.

On the surface of it, Christopher Nolan’s 2006 mystery drama “The Prestige” is the tale of rivaling stage magicians played by Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale in late 19th Century Victorian London. At the same time, it’s a deceptively clever and wildly innovative love-letter to the magic of cinema where Nolan essentially suggests the effectiveness of a film and good storytelling is akin to the success of a good magic trick.

Joining your host Adam Stolfo is Reel Chat regulars Andrew McCaskill and Penny Jelly as well as returning guest Michael Hadjion – who we haven’t heard from since all the way back in November 2015! Join the team as they discuss where “The Prestige” sits in director Christopher Nolan’s body of work, the adapted screenplay Nolan wrote with his brother Jonathan, the underwhelming musical score of David Julyan, Wally Pfister’s amazing cinematography, as well as discussion on the film’s unanswered mysteries.
