Message: How To Take Care Of Yourself?

Things You Should Know:

  1. God wants you to be healthy PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY,

EMOTIONALLY, and SPIRITUALLY.

  1. You must always consider your HEALTH before your HELP.

  1. Jesus wants to be your PRIMARY PHYSICIAN.

(Mark 2:16-17) (NLT) 16But when the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees saw him eating with tax collectors and other sinners, they asked his disciples, “Why does he eat with such scum? 17When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

(Romans 3:23)(NLT) For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard.

Things You Should Do:

  1. Spend your time VERY WISELY.

(Ephesians 5:15-17) (NIV) 15Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

(1 Corinthians 10:23)(NLT) You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is good for you. You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is beneficial.

  1. Keep a close watch OVER YOUR LIFE.

(1 Timothy 4:16)(NLT) Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

(Psalm 26:2)(NIV) Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;

  1. Invite the RIGHT PEOPLE into your life.

(1 Corinthians 15:33) (NIV) Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."

(2 Corinthians 6:14)(NLT) Don't team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?

(Hebrews 10:25)(NLT) And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12) (NIV) 9Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

  1. Make time to process your GRIEF & PAIN.

(Ecclesiastes 3:1-4) (NLT) 1For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. 2A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. 3A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. 4A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.

(Ephesians 4:31-32) (NLT) 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

  1. Take care of your PHYSICAL BODY.

(1 Corinthians 6:19-20) (NLT) 19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

(1 Timothy 4:8)(NIV) For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

  1. DIGEST God’s word to renew your MIND & HEART.

(Romans 12:2)(NLT) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

(Psalm 1:1-3) (NLT) 1Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. 2But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. 3They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

(Psalm 119:11) (NLT) I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

(Jeremiah 15:16)(NIV) When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, LORD God Almighty.

  1. Run to JESUS FOR EVERYTHING.

(Matthew 11:28)(NLT) Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

(John 14:26-27) (NLT) 26But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. 27I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

(John 16:33)(NLT) I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
