We waited too long to talk Bubble Bobble. I know it, I admit it, I apologize for it, and I plan to fix it right fucking now. This is one of those games that everyone knows. Even if you didn't play it back in the day, you've heard of it. The gameplay is very simple, and so damned fun. One of the things I adore about (good) retro video games is that they didn't rely on 4k ray tracing dynamic explosive graphics or fancy controllers, they were either fun or they weren't. No smoke and mirrors. Bubble Bobble falls into that category, and games like this are timeless. Absolutely timeless. My buddy and fellow old piece of shit Brad is back on the show this week, and we spent a nice little chunk of time talking about blowing bubbles and eating candy and running away from a stupid fucking white ghost whale that eats souls.
