Manu (Swish) Goswami is a 20 year old TEDx speaker, venture capitalist (at JB Fitzgerald Venture Capital founded by Brooklyn Nets PF Trevor Booker), LinkedIn Youth Editor (over 50K followers) United Nations Youth Ambassador and serial entrepreneur. After successfully building Technotronics Inc, a wearables startup, Swish is now the co-founder of Dunk Media, a sports media conglomerate heavily focused on social by establishing and growing a media network of over 10M followers hyper-focused on basketball. Swish has notably won Plan Canada’s Top 20 under 20, the United Nation’s Outstanding Youth Leadership award and Startup Canada’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Swish has been recognized as “One of the World’s Most Accomplished Teenagers” by Future Sharks, “One of Ten Gen Z Experts to Follow” by Forbes and the “Face and Future of Canadian Entrepreneurship” by UPS Canada.
Born in Singapore, Swish grew up with a keen interest in entrepreneurship. When Swish was 10, he started a hovercraft business and employed his own father as his Chief Project Engineer. Swish sold his first and only hovercraft for $200 which he donated to a local orphanage. Swish grew up with a speech impediment and though he was never bullied, he was not ignorant to the stigma faced by individuals who suffer from mental, verbal, and physical disabilities. This was a contributing factor in shaping Swish’s continued belief that the most successful businesses can be built on a foundation that provides a positive social impact to others.
Swish serves as an advisor and/or on the board of a collection of organizations including the Canadian Student Debating Federation, Literacy Empowerment Foundation, Children of Hope Uganda, and Beat the Street. Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, he is also a contributor to the Huffington Post and the Global and Mail and the sole author of People, Planet, Profit: Era of Social Entrepreneurship. As a public speaker, Swish has spoken at EDGE 2016 TEDxUofT and is enlisted in the National Speakers Bureau database.
