Beautifully moving music from Vancouver clarinetist Francois Houle, vocal performer Norbert Kogging and his band from Amsterdam and Lionel Loueke, with his groovin' song Dream. Then meditative sounds from Oud player extraordinaire Gord Grdina- getting into some fiery and risk taking exciting guitar work from Grdina as well. Then more freely improvised guitar sounds with a string quartet from Chad MacQuarrie's latest impressive improvised string quartet release with LSB +M entitled 434 available at arentedcrutch.bandcamp.com. You will not want to miss this, with MacQuarrie playing the role of the viola on guitar the string quartet sounds are some gorgeous textural creations and great quartet interplay. Moving into other sonic dimensions with Herbie Hancock and hip jazz guitar sounds from Lenny Breau and George Benson. Wrapping it up with Canada's east meets west band Metalwood featuring some brilliant technical wizardry from Mike Murley, Brad Turner and the band and closing up Part One of these podcasts with local drummer/percussionist Roger Baird's Black and White Trio. Rhythmaning is hitting record numbers of downloads with over 2600 downloads over a few days- host and producer Kerilie McDowall would like to give thanks to you the fantastic listeners and also to Rhythmaning's special musicians/interview guests for making Rhythmaning hit #2 spot globally off and on this past month on recent google searches for best jazz podcasts in March 2015!
