Jane Addams Physical inactivity crosses all demographics: socioeconomic, ethnicity, and even age. In fact, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) reports that 16% of children and adolescents are overweight or obese. There's a correlation between the diminished utilization of physical education classes in schools and the increase of obesity among our youth, which is one of the biggest challenges Kinesiologists face today. It is imperative as adults that we promote greater access for our youth to participate in extracurricular activities that they will learn and gain through adulthood.
