Laz began on a show called Checkpoint, writing and co-hosting in 2006. His character God-fist was an egotistical sexist gamer who was willing to say anything or do anything for a laugh. The podcast ended when he became tired of playing a character that was nothing like himself, neglecting his spirituality for entertainment. Next he was called to organize a street ministry built on apologetics in 2008. He worked with the revamping of Philly Word Magazine as a writer, but left shortly after the launch. He is now focusing on creating great entertainment that is rooted in his love of Christ and this is his first project, Real Issues: Spiritual Edition AKA R.I.S.E. The show tackles all issues from pop culture to politics, focusing on a Christian viewpoint.
