Calling a church body a "Family" can be a bit of a cliche. It also can be painful for people who have been injured by family members, church leaders or any authority figure in the past. God is calling us into healing of these wounds so we can operate powerfully in a community of believers. In this teaching shared by Paul Swearengin on July 23, 2017 at The River Church of Fresno, we learn that trusting in God is the key to being able to operate in community with other human beings.

Like David of the Bible; David realized his leader Saul was flawed - but he trusted in God more than the perfection of Saul. And when he had a chance to take his future into his own hands by killing Saul, David refused to do so. In fact, he felt guilty for even cutting his robe.

God has demonstrated life in community by the Trinity and has shown how he shares his love in family through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. There is healing for family wounds and God wants you to have it - so you don't have to live powerlessly out of the wounds of the past. Enjoy this encouragement for your life.
