Police were searching on Tuesday for a man who wielded a chopper during a High Court hearing. The man was sitting in the public gallery in a contempt of court case being heard by judge Wilson Chan when he suddenly pulled the chopper from his back-pack and reportedly shouted "lawless" in Mandarin before fleeing. No one was hurt in the incident and the trial was adjourned as police began a thorough search of the building in Admiralty. But Chief Inspector Dilys Lo said officers could not find the man, described as being Chinese and around 50 years old, despite checking the entire building twice. Lo said they were studying surveillance camera footage and would interview all possible witnesses to the incident, including maybe the judge, to try to work out whether the man is connected to the trial. The chief inspector added that the force will step up patrols in the area.
