We take a Second Look at the local history of the north country region of New York in our weekly podcast, by mining the pages of the 150-year-plus newspaper, the Watertown Daily Times in Watertown, N.Y.

150 years ago Aug. 18, 1868: Sheriff Johnson, who attached the animals of Howe’s Circus, has the elephant and other animals on his hands yet at Cape Vincent, says he shall bring them up here next week if the claim is not settled. Several persons are anxious to purchase the elephant to please their children.

Second Look is produced weekly by the Watertown Daily Times with hosts Kelly and Christina.
