Der Rat des Flüchtlingslagers Maxmur fordert internationale Unterstützung, nachdem das Lager, das 200 km südlich der irakisch-türkischen Grenze liegt, am Wochenende wieder vom türkischen Militär angegriffen wurde und wieder Menschen getötet wurden.
Das Lager ist insofern besonders, dass es selbstverwaltet ist nach demokratischen Strukturen. Es leben dort seit den 90er Jahren ca 12 000 Menschen, die als Kurd*innen in der Türkei verfolgt wurden und dorthin geflüchtet sind.
