Now is a beautiful time to dive into the origin of body shame in our culture so that with this awareness we can educate and empower ourselves and the women and young women who look up to us. So that yes, we can enjoy our bodies as sensual beings in our intimate relationships, but also so we can feel whole, beautiful and valued – just as we are – no matter where we are.

In this interview, author Feminista Jones talks candidly about her novel, Push the Button. She shares the inspiration behind her novel – which originally started as a blog post, then grew a fanbase and a life of it’s own!

Plus we talk about the world of kink, and what Feminista really thought about 50 Shades of Grey.

And beyond the erotica world, we also talk about femininity, self-acceptance and body confidence. Something that all women can absolutely relate to.
Feminista says that,

“The beauty industry relies primarily on women never feeling good enough. Because if we ever really get to a place where we feel that we’re fine, we won’t be going out and buying half the products that we buy.”

Can you relate?

Feminista Jones has been an award-winning blogger/vlogger, author, podcaster, lecturer, and public speaker for the better part of the last decade. She was also the general director of the first all-digital online conference developed by and featuring ONLY women of color, from 5 continents, the Women’s Freedom Conference.
