“With the common application, students can go to one site and use a single application to apply to any one of 674 different colleges. But different schools want different sources of information so it is not a single application but a core application.”
“There a five essay options with the common application and students can choose the one they want to write. When you submit to a college you may get additional prompts as some schools require 2 or 3 supplemental essays.”
“Students can indicate who they want letters of recommendation from, and the teachers or counselors will get an email instructing them on how to upload the letter.”
“Schools don’t all have the same Common Application deadlines. Before you start filling out applications, write down the deadline for each school you plan to apply to. To avoid technical issues, don’t want to wait until the last minute to apply. Apply 2 or 3 days before the school’s deadline. “
