Yesterday, we were out at the VMAC for OTA's, and we touched on the Bobby Wagner contract situation. It's been said that there doesn't need to be much focus on it because contracts are contracts, but not every contract is the same. In fact, they've all been different. The Russell Wilson situation was different than the Earl Thomas situation was different than Frank Clark and so on. The bar has been set, and we think we know what to expect from Wagner's next deal, but every contract is different. The NFL has announced that the Combine will be in Prime Time next season, and the next several cities for the draft have been announced. Seattle isn't on the list yet, but maybe in a few years. Do you even want it here? We aren't going to get an NBA All Star game without a team, we aren't set up here for a Final Four anymore, and the Hawks don't seem that interested in hosting a Super Bowl. Aside from an NHL Draft, we aren't really in the running for other big events. On Something Good, the St. Louis Blues are playing for the Stanley Cup. Not only have they had a brutal history that puts even the Mariners to shame, but they were in last place just a few months ago, much like the 1979 Sonics were. They've also recently lost their NFL team, not unlike how we lost our NBA team. There are a lot of parallels between St. Louis and Seattle as sports cities. If you're looking for a team to root for in the Stanley Cup Final, the Blues might be your team.
