We've all experienced a form of mom guilt in one way or another. For example, I feel guilty right now for writing this blog post instead of making donuts with Chan or cleaning the house. But I quickly check myself because I realize, I am more than just a mom. I've created something I'm proud of that has grown into a business and you never hear Bill Gates or Elon Musk talk about feeling guilty for working on their business so why do moms in business do this? That's just one of the things we're talking about this week with Crystalee Beck, Co-Founder of The Mama Ladder - a company that empowers mom entrepreneurs to take bold action with BIG heart. Create your own ladder™. They help moms climb after business dreams that fit your family. Crystalee tells me how The Mama Ladder was built with her partner Lynette Evans as a way to help women around the world thrive at the intersection of mamahood and entrepreneurship. They offer one-on-one business mentoring as well as a plan of action to help women ditch the corporate ladder and start building a ladder to success of their choosing. When I started MIH I had no idea what I was doing. I started my podcast as way to connect with other women in my industry and meet new moms. I didn't realize that it would start to grow into a business and a movement. There are many days I feel like I can't keep up with the demands of the machine I've created but I keep pressing forward. I wish I would have had something like The Mama Ladder in my corner from the beginning. They are so proactive about helping mamas in business, that they are offering a High Five Grant to women get their feet off the ground. Crystalee tells me the it's a semi-annual $5,000 business grant empowering mom entrepreneurs to make massive impact. Hosted by The Mama Ladder®, this grant provides economic empowerment for promising mom entrepreneurs to build their business. Check out their website to see how to apply because they are accepting applications now! I also have a big announcement in this episode: The Mama Ladder has invited me to be the Keynote Speaker for the 2019 #MamaSpringBreak Business & Adventure Retreat in St. George, Utah! Join me at Zion National Park for this one-of-a-kind experience as we lay out our business plans and put our ideas into action. I'll be sharing my story, but also giving you practical information you can use to build your own corporate ladder with the flexibility to put your family first. The retreat includes an adventurous climb to through the mountains and a private yoga class. There are a limited number of tickets available for this retreat so make sure you get yours right away! Join me for the 2019 #MamaSpringBreak Business & Adventure Retreat in St. George, Utah I felt so empowered after this episode! I'm ready to shed the mom guilt and start focusing more on building my business. What are your business goals? Maybe you just have an idea and don't know where to start? That's ok! Listen and see if the inspiration finds you.
