Storytelling is the oldest form of preserving history. I grew up loving radio, and hearing the teller of a good story is one of the great joys in my life. I am so grateful I am living in a time of podcasting and numerous people having access to microphones and audiences. In this edition of Inspiring Teachers, I introduce some methods of incorporating podcasts into the classroom, using one example of a Social Studies classroom setting and The Moth Radio Hour. You can find this excellent podcast at TheMoth.org and I think you will enjoy it. I talk about how changing up the methods of instruction can keep the class’ interest.
