Paint is one of the few staple finishes on almost every specification. Used liberally throughout practically every residential and commercial project, we often take paint for granted. However, there's a complex school of paint formulation behind every tin. The process of developing these delicately balanced combinations of ingredients was once considered an art, but with the help of Bruce Gascoigne from Dulux we're seeing this evolve into a science, creating high performing, more consistent products than previously thought possible.

In this context, Joe and Laurence were thrilled to welcome Bruce onto the podcast for this week's episode. Holding the title of 'Technical Manger' Bruce is both an inventor and scientist, and provides an engaging overview of how we now make paint, and what designers need to know for the best possible paint outcomes on their projects.

If you're interested to find out more about either Dulux or their paint ranges you can visit https://www.dulux.com.au/.

Next week Laurence and Joe look forward to welcoming Brett Ward from Brickworks to learn more about bricks. This is bound to be yet another great episode so make sure to check your feed for valuable insights from one of the industry's leading brands.

The Specification is brought to you by Northwest Media, an Australian digital agency specialising in creation and delivery of custom web apps.
