Board game pubs and cafés are popping up all over the place recently.

Seems like a pretty smart idea - give people and their friends something that will occupy them for hours so they stay and buy more stuff. Well played, you sneaky pubs.

But what if you’re playing games with strangers instead of your friends? What if you don’t have that usual freedom of calling someone a pri*k, when they succeed instead of you in some made up game?

This week on 'Should I Bother', we put those social skills to the test and attended a games night in our local coworking space. Playing board games with strangers that we’ve never heard of, like Pandemic - where were the world champions of this when we needed them, eh?!

Also discussed - why board games are the new ‘popping to the pub’; the do's and don'ts of board game etiquette with strangers; and our game of the week - “Can you name the renamed board game?”

As always, we conclude with discussing the experience and whether we think you should bother or not.
