Michelle Tea is a slutty queer icon and the author of over twenty books. Today she joins us to celebrate the release of Sluts, an anthology she edited and it’s the first release under her new publishing organization, Dopamine Press.

We begin the conversation by diving into what it means to be a slut in our culture today, how the word has been used against us, and how we’ve come to reclaim it. Then we discuss her childhood and what pushed her to leave her hometown at 21 and move in with her then-girlfriend. After that, we discuss her sex work, addiction, the mental illness that is writing memoir, and how she got sober.

This is part 1 of our conversation, part 2 will come out on May 7— the same release day of Sluts.
