Welcome to the Sounds Like a Search and Rescue Podcast! Also known as SLASR. Join an experienced search and rescue volunteer and his friend as they discuss all things related to hiking and search and rescue in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
This week, In the run up to episode 100 - we continue to revisit some early episodes to clean up some topics. This week the focus is on Franconia Ridge. We will revisit our advice on all the trail systems in and around franconia ridge. We will also give our tips on safety considering this is the busiest part of NH for search and rescue calls. Also we are going to revisit the Michael Miller Search and Rescue from 1983 on Franconia, we recently picked up the Appalachia accident report from Summer 1984 so we will break down the search day by day and ask Stomp to give his perspective. All this plus trail names, AT Thru hikers quitting the trail dramatically, Golden Gaiter recap, and Stomp will read a preview of our Hallmark movie script called Kittens for Waterville.
