Sounds Of Calgary showcases the landscapes and artists of Calgary. The project explores areas of the city we sometimes take for granted by creating a dialogue about what makes the city special to individuals, sharing the artistic and historic beauty of Calgary, and raising the profile of local musicians. The Sound of Calgary podcasts showcase independent musicians and their talents by taking them to landmarks in the city to improvise music to what they hear around them. Artists share their experiences in the space and why it is an important landmark to them while Calgarians share their stories as well. Join us for any of the recordings (entrance fees may apply at some locations): Saturday, August 11th at 2:00 PM Kris Demeanor Chinese Cultural Centre (197 1st Street SW) Saturday, September 8th at 2:00 PM Shine Machine (Steve Fletcher & Jonathan May) Calgary Tower (101 9th Avenue SW) Saturday, September 15th at 2:00 PM Kenna Burima Grace Presbyterian Church (1009 15 Avenue SW) Saturday, October 6th at 2:00 PM The Tumbleweed String Ticklers Heritage Park's Historical Village (1900 Heritage Drive SW)
